A Turning Point

This photo means a lot to me, because that day all the top chefs were gathered together and I was the only woman in the kitchen. This was at Front Porch. That day I discovered myself and truly fell in love with cooking, and I saw that I could go as far as I wanted in this beautiful career of gastronomy. Today, I am Chef Mónica López.

I've been fighting for this since I was in Puerto Rico.

Experience

By the way, thanks to God and the experience I gained working outside the island with you, I opened my own business in the USA, and I'm working hard on my own company. I've been fighting for this since I was in Puerto Rico.

I would have loved to grow and develop there, but God had other plans for me. My goal is to create jobs and help our youth.

Today

Skewer Kingdom offers catering, charcuterie, and glamping picnic services. In June, I'm opening my first food truck. Tennessee and Ohio opened the doors for me, helping me overcome my fear of starting a business, traveling, and trusting in myself, and that's the truth, so I'm very grateful!!
