TWO ALUMNI STORIES FROM 2012
In this post, Luciana Collado and Kennith Núñez share what the 2012 experience meant in their personal and professional lives.
LUCIANA MARÍA COLLADO
Today
I am a journalist, event producer, and businesswoman, the owner of a restaurant called Lo de la Paliza, which offers live shows and regional Argentine cuisine.
Life Now
I am married to Cecilia Paliza, a renowned singer in my country. I have two dogs and three cats.
The Work and Travel program was my first step towards personal independence.
Experience
The Work and Travel program was my first step towards personal independence. I worked to pay for my plane tickets, so it was a beautiful challenge and accomplishment. It was my first trip with friends and my first formal job. It was my first encounter with a different culture, and it has given me confidence in my daily life to thrive in every role and job I've had. Furthermore, it was the only way to strengthen my language skills and become fluent.
KENNITH NUNEZ
A separate 2012 story built around work experience, language growth, and the life she later built in Tennessee.
Today
I'm Kennith Núñez, and I'm from Peru. I currently work as a Loan Processing Auditor.
Life Now
I live with my husband, whom I also met while working at Ober, my first job in 2012, and our two children in Seymour, Tennessee.
I gained a lot of work experience and improved my English.
Experience
Through the Work and Travel program, I gained a lot of work experience and improved my English, which was the foundation for the great future I enjoy now.
